Biography

I have a B.S. in English Education and a Master’s Equivelancy in Curriculum Specialization. I am a former English teacher who dove into journalism in 2001. My articles have appeared in The Washington Post, where I wrote about my sepsis survival, AARP, The Healthy @Reader’s Digest, Costco Connection, and hundreds more. I’ve also written for several medical trade journals. I have multiple disabilities and work with several organizations, such as the Ehlers-Danlos Society, on disability and chronic illness advocacy. As a sepsis survivor, I am also an ardent sepsis advocate. I educate community groups about sepsis, and work with the following U.S. organizations: non-profit Sepsis Alliance, non-profit Love for Lochlin, and, Voices of Sepsis
